Have you been looking for new ways to make your home cleaning more “eco-friendly?” See this list of easy product swaps that will make the environment, your home, and your wallet happy!
Try using dryer balls instead of dryer sheets
Dryer balls, which are typically made of wool, plastic, or rubber, may prevent laundry from clumping together. They may also help clothes dry faster, soften the fabric, and reduce static.
Use your old dryer sheets to dust your home
If you haven’t switched to dryer balls yet, but are planning on doing so - don’t throw away your dryer sheets! You can use dryer sheets to dust off the top of furniture, door frames, baseboards, and much more instead of buying disposable dusters.
Use microfiber cloths
Microfiber cloths can absorb liquids and oils, they can wash appliances and windows, and much more. This can make them the perfect eco-friendly replacement for paper towels. Simply place them in the dishwasher or washing machine to clean.
Swap your all-purpose cleaner with white vinegar
Fill a reusable bottle with a mixture of white vinegar and water to create a natural, all-purpose cleaner that you can use on just about anything! If you don’t love the smell of vinegar, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to brighten the scent.
Replace bleach-based cleaners with baking soda
Baking soda can make a great replacement for the bleach-based cleaners you may use to clean. You can combine it with your new vinegar cleaner for extra cleaning power.
Get biodegradable sponges
Change up your plastic dish-washing sponges with biodegradable ones. These sponges can be reused several times and even run through the dishwasher or washing machine to be freshened up.
